La Rivoluzione Leggera della Musica Italiana

The Archivio Storico Ricordi as a guest in Mantua on the occasion of Festivaletteratura 2019

From the 4th of September until the 8th of September 2019 the city of Mantua is going to host the 23rd edition of Festivaletteratura. The programme full of appointments and meetings with well-known and highly respected personalities features the presence of the Archivio Storico Ricordi with a speech scheduled for Sunday 8thSeptember at the Santa Maria della Vittoria Church.

In the late Fifties, Nanni Ricordi, the last heir of the most illustrious Italian music publishing company, prowls among the venues in Milan frequented by young and promising musicians attracted by cool jazz and the existentialism of French chansonnier. His living room soon become the meeting point for singers such as Giorgio Gaber, Enzo Jannacci, Luigi Tenco, Gino Paoli, Sergio Endrigo, who assert themselves in the music world thanks to the support of Dischi Ricordi founded by Nanni: a record label open to the new times, able to overcome the split between classical music and other music. Pierluigi Ledda, director of Archivio Storico Ricordi, Claudio Ricordi and Michele Coralli, authors of L’inventore dei cantautori (The inventor of songwriters), are going to remember that extraordinary season through images and recordings of that period.
