From the 4th of September until the 8th of September 2019 the city of Mantua is going to host the 23rd edition of Festivaletteratura. In the late Fifties, Nanni Ricordi, the last heir of the most illustrious company of Italian music publishing, prowls among the venues in Milan frequented by young and promising musicians attracted by cool jazz and the existentialism of French chansonnier. His living room soon become the meeting point for singers such as Giorgio Gaber, Enzo Jannacci, Luigi Tenco, Gino Paoli, Sergio Endrigo, who assert themselves in the music world thanks to the support of Dischi Ricordi founded by Nanni, a record label open to the new times, which is able to overcome the split between classical music and other music. Pierluigi Ledda, director of Archivio Storico Ricordi, Claudio Ricordi and Michele Coralli, authors of L’inventore dei cantautori (The inventor of songwriters), are going to remember that extraordinary season through images and recordings of that period.
