Presentation of the critical edition of the operas of Giacomo Puccini

Casa Ricordi and Ricordi & C. present, at Biblioteca Nazionale Braidense in Milan, the Critical Edition of the operas of Giacomo Puccini.

Manon Lescaut, the first volume of the Critical edition, direct by Gabriele Dotto, for the first time makes available to the interpreters the versions of the opera survived in different sources, and returns the original music text. For the realizing of the opera it was essential the study of the sources and the historical documents of the Puccini’s publisher, materials preserved in the Ricordi Historical Archive.

The Critical Edition of the Operas of Giacomo Puccini, thanks to the privileged access to the primary autograph sources, to the secondary sources annotated, to the contemporary documents, offers information not available till now.
